[. . . so the body was placed on a rough prospector's toboggan, drawn by six train dogs.]
1959
Although this toboggan has apparently been discontinued by the Peterborough Canoe Company, their catalog does list a Prospector's Toboggan, which . . . is very popular in the [Canadian] northern countries especially with prospectors. The hood bent in a long curve rises easily when it strikes a log or other obstruction. . . . These toboggans are made with three slats of selected birch or maple to a width of fifteen inches at the front or shoulder, tapering to thirteen and one-half inches at the tail.
